An estimated crowd of 9,000 enjoyed the beautiful weather, as well as the crafts, food, demonstrations and entertainment at the 22nd High Country Arts & Crafts Fair at S.B.Elliott State Park. The entertainment once again featured our own organist Bobby Guarino, as well as newcomers Denny Huber, the magician/balloon man to please young and old alike, and the Cavalry Boys for everyone’s listening pleasure.

The arts and crafts vendors, entertainment and exhibits were all coordinated by Bev and Bill Lawhead while the food preparation and service were provided by the Clearfield Elks Past Exalted Rulers Association.

Howard Wise and Carol Berry, the founders of the event in 1989, were present to remind of us how it all started and offer suggestions. S.B.Elliott State Park, the site of the event, is owned and maintained by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources under the direction of Park Manager, Elizabeth Grove.

We rely on the safety provided with the presence of the Clearfield EMS and their well-trained personnel, as well as the Lawrence Township Fire Police to provide traffic control. The parking areas are provided and maintained by the DCNR Forestry Department under the guidance of Robert Merrill, while Fullington Auto Bus Company provided the trolley for shuttle service to and from the parking areas.

Clearfield Elks Lodge #540 sponsors the entire event and relies upon members, their families and friends, as well as the PER Association, to make it all happen. This year the PERs would like to thank the following for their help:
